Looking for adive on a Gaming/Workstation build

I have a having a hard time finding information on graphics cards and CPU's that are good for both gaming and workstation applications. To be specific I will be doing some CAD work and physics simulations.  I am looking to spend around $1500 on my build. Thanks in advance for the help.

If you're going to be doing both gaming and CAD work, I would probably go with either a GTX 760 or 770, depending on what you can afford.  I've heard that CUDA is better for this type of application as well.

For cad you definitely want Intel and Nvidia. If you can handle the price then i suggest getting an i7, the hyper threading helps a lot for things like CAD and matlab. Amd gpus wont kill your performance but Nvidia does have the upper hand on performance for CAD.
