Looking for a USB mic that is less than $100

I am looking at getting a microphone for Skype and some recording, so far I have looked at the Samson Meteor, the Blue Snowball, and the Blue Yeti. I'm not sure what to get.

These all seem like fine microphones. If you do go with one of these microphones, just be sure to set them to cardioid so it will only pick up the audio from one direction and not all directions.

I can also recommend the Samson C01U, which is the one I own.

How do you have it set up on your desk?

The mic just sits on its little stand adjacent to the monitor facing me about fourteen inches from my face. Just did a little snippit in Audacity and my voice sounds clear, even with a fan blowing in the room, not directly into the microphone. If you want, I can put a sample in Dropbox for you.

If you can get a yeti for under 100 i would go with that. It's one of the best sounding and simplest to set up USB mic's i have ever had. It also has a place to plugin headphones for direct monitoring of the mic along with System sounds.

Thanks. I'll trust your word.
