Looking for a new pair of headphones. I could use some help

I'm looking for a new pair of open air headphones for around 100-200 dollars and I honestly have no idea where to start looking. I've never really looked into headphones until recently and up until now I've used Astro A40s. My cables have gotten chewed for the ten millionth time by my cats and I'm looking for a good pair that would have more reliable cables and, of course, good sound. I'll be using these for teamspeak, video games, and music, sometimes movies but rarely. I listen to death metal, classical, and maybe some ambient or EDM type stuff on the side.

no cable will survive being chewed by a cat... i have monster headphones and they are great, the only brands that are good enough quality for me are sennheiser, monster, harman kardon, beats by dr dre and sol republic, but all studio quality. sennheiser has the worlds most natural sounding headphones and to my knowledge all have lifetime warrenty

monster has lifetime warrenty aswell

AKG Q701 (Just above budget)

Beyerdynamic DT990 (Just above budget)

They all get good reviews. Problem is, I don't think they make anti-cat cables. The strongest cable I know of, aside from something custom or prohibitively expensive, would be the V-MODA cable. The V-MODA cable should fit any headphone with a standard 1/8" jack on the headphone itself, so it can be used for much more than just V-MODA products.

I ended up looking at the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro and HD598s. I'm leaning more towards the 990 Pro but I'm not really sure which one is objectively better. Any of you guys have experience with either of these? I can imagine this coming down to be purely subjective.
