Looking for a good tv-tuner

Ok, so I'm looking for a good tv-tuner for around $50.00. Needs to work with windows media center on vista 64, HD Capability, and have an IR cable. Remote control would be nice. Can be PCI or PCI-E x1. Any recommendations?Unfortunately, every single tv-tuner I see online has completely mixed reviews, and I cant decide on which one to get. Help!

Dunno if they meet your requirements

I would get this one. Looks to be the best for your price range and has what seems to be most of the things you need. As Sonata said, I don't know if it meets your needs, but I am pretty sure it would. Good luck!.

I need 1 aswell

Yes, finally I can give someone some serious advice. I built an HTPC not too long ago, and it used a cool TV tuner card.

Sorry for the Tigerdirect link, I know everyone hates those. But that card works great with Windows Media Center, The remote works damn fine as well. A great purchase, we record TV all the time with this card.

In all seriousness, do you have any FullScreen screenshots of the quality for TV?

No I don't, I could get some but I'm not sure if it displays the potential of the card. I don't subscribe to HDTV, so it'll be in standard definition. Eh screw it, I'll get some and post them tomorrow.

All I have is SD Cable anyways. And I really need a TV tuner

There are LR RCA speaker jacks, does this mean I need speakers that support RCA? I only have USB speakers so :P

USB should work, I am using SPDIF Optical for audio. The card works fine with my VIA audio drivers, I have an Asus board.

Also, what rez do you play it at? And fullscreen? What would you rate the FS Quality (1-10, 10 being highest)

I'm running it on an HDTV, at about 1280x720. I'm not sure what resolution the video plays at, whatever standard def is guess, 480P. I don't have much to compare it to, but it looks about an 8, as far as standard def goes, it's about equal to my cable box.

Also, my budget is exactly $102, while the 1850 is $108 shipped. Any ideas on a cheaper card with ~ quality?

Would you recommend

??

Looks like a good one, however I haven't used it. I take it that you're looking for a PCIE 1x card? If not then the HVR1600 is great. Other than the one you posted, I don't see much. Never used anything by the brand Avermedia, so I cannot say whether or not theyare respectable.

I actually will be getting the ASUS MY CINEMA EHD3-100.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815293007&cm_re=asus-_-15-293-007-_-ProductLots of extras, works with WMC, remote, HD-air receiver, and an IR sensor. Ill post back on here after I test it out.

Looks like a nice, however expensive tuner. Has a really nice looking remote. Enjoy your purchase.
