Looking for a good desk to fit my 40" TV and dual monitor set up. Any suggestions?
Just a suggestion.
Buy some wood and build a desk for your needs. It'll be cheaper and better, IMO.
Here's a picture of my old set up to give you an idea. (I moved the TV to the opposite side of the room in my current set up.) It took $40, and some elbow grease.
Most people are not going to build their own desks or even if they are willing to do it, they might lack the knowledge and expertise to make it a feasible option.
OP wants viable options.
PS: nice desk.
Go thrift shopping. Just Wednesday I got a 6ft long desk for $20.
Go to home depot, buy some wood n screws.
Well, my desk is a folding table that has a veneered shelf screwed to it. So it went from table to drawing table to a folding desktop in five or so years. So I would agree on the screws and wood approach.
one option is to buy or find a solid wood door without any design in it. basically a flat slab in the depth dimensions you want. cut off the excess so that the hole for the knob is centered (itll be a cable hole), finish it or whatever and attach legs of the right height (sized to you individually).
the price will vary greatly depending on if you can find a nice used door or not.
alternatively you can just check goodwill and the salvation army. I have found some decent stuff there in the past.
.. That desk, my back would kill me.
Doesn't craning your neck hurt looking at the TV?
That's why i moved the TV. lol
I just posted it to show him the possibilities that he would have if he builds his own desk.
Right but I have seen tons of posts like that for battle stations. I guess I am asking what the point is. Even if an individual is tall.

Well, In my particular case, my girlfriend likes to hang out in my room a lot and watch shows. The TV was there for netflix streaming off of my PC while I played my games.
It's been moved to the other side of my room because I built a new low power PC for my girlfriend to stream off of. If I hadn't built her a new PC, the TV would probably still be there. lol
Ah I suppose that would be a good reason. Especially if you had a bigger TV for everyone to watch, and save on entertainment center space in favor of a desk.
