II am simply looking for a DAC that will not color sound, but will simply boost volume and does not cost a fortune, and I can't find one. Can someone help me out?
external or internal? portable or desktop? how cheap do you need? I use a fiio e17 which i can connect through usb or a 3.5mm male to male. I like it fine, it also has bass & treble equalizer if you want to mess with that. I enjoy it since I can bring it along with my phone/laptop as well as use it at my desk. I think it is around 120 bucks on amazon. I suggest staying with an external option since they have less interference and easier to migrate from one system to the next, since they are usually usb.
External. Desktop. Below 250.
Most people love the Objective2 Amp DAC combo. Its a little over your budget by about $30. I just got a really inexpensive DAC from Muse Audio, it was $45 which leaves lots of room for an AMP.
Here's the amazon, muse ,and mayflower links:
Tanks. Probably getting the Mayflower.
