I want to buy a fully modular PSU because the cable clutter in my current build it madness. According to PCPartpicker my build has a TDP of 457W. I'm looking for something that isn't too expensive--something that is good and reliable but I'm tight on money atm.
I would prefer something that is going to last a while. I don't really plan on adding another GPU or anything that would really add much to the TDP (if anything I would get a Fury or one of the new AMD cards in the future, but that wouldn't bring it up much higher than the 390X). I'd feel more comfortable if it is rated higher, though my current power supply is 80+ Bronze.
would go for a g2 over a nex(hasnt different oem which is directly competitive with seasonic and enermax etc, best psu's) if you want cream of the crop anyways superflower is definitely competitive, evga ships 10year warranty 650 is ~90 on newegg currently.
nex would be more.. decent enetry level like evga 500b generally work obviously, still some kind of warranty, sort of like a thermaltake/low end antec decent company/support but isnt a flagship product. but if its in the budget could throw ~20$ more or whatever, and get into a high end unit with a g2
edit: oh forgot XD the lower power g2s only have 7 year warranty(750 and up looks 10 year though)
I would not really go with neither overpraised EVGA nor overpraised and overpriced Corsair... EVGA have also overpraised graphics cards, that catch fire, and Corsair already are showing issues with like half their PSUs... 105$ https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CfXfrH/seasonic-power-supply-ss660xp2
I will likely be getting custom sleeved cables eventually. ATM I just don't want to have 5 unused molex cables and another 4 unused sata cables laying around in the bottom of my case. I like to work on the aesthetics of my build as well as the function once I get to that point.
