I need input, performance/value video recorder suitable for 720p for a startup channel. Any advice/input is welcome. I also need an audio pickup that will deliver acceptable quality for the non-audiophile.

720p? cellphone with seperate, dedicated mic. sync two of them in post.
First of all I love your avatar! Second I'm looking for something that I can mount on a tripod. And cell phone cameras won't provide the professional quality I'm hoping for. My phone, HTC One, can do 1080p ok but zooming diminishes quality exponentially.
So I am looking for a proper camera just not a drool worthy video-phile wet dream device.
A budget will probably get more useful answers.
