Would an older threadripper system be valid for another 5 years or so. I want more pcie lanes to play arou d with multpile GPUs on machine learning and such. Ive had them at work for our CADD machines througout the year and never had problems. Then the AMD 9050x came out and im torn. If i was running 3090s would the faster Pcie 5 and memory allow less lanes to saturate the cards in turn requiring like 4 bifurcated from the 16 lanes typical pcie cards need. I dont need the wicked speed out of the cpu ita just the lanes i want for upgrading. Thought?
