Looking at getting a laptop

So im looking into getting a laptop for gaming and school work. My budget is around 1300usd. I have no preference to any company other then i will not buy a dell or HP.

I have been looking at these two here but im still undecided. Any thoughts or comments would be great. TY HF.

I'd choose the asus one. Because it is asus, plus. Like it or not but intel's processors and nvidia's gpu's tend to use less power and produce less heat(not amd's fault, they simply don't have the research power or money to go to go down in proces nodes as fast), that's what you need in a laptop right?

I'd look into this one http://www.amazon.com/Computer-Corp-GE60-2OE-003US-9S7-16GC11-003/dp/B00CU9GKTO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378463086&sr=8-1&keywords=ge+60#productDetails

Its the intel/Nvidea version of the first one with a new haswell i7 and a better gpu than option 2, also quite portable.

I concur!

+1

+1 MSI makes AMAZING laptops. Got myself the GT70 and I have absolutely no complaints about it, except maybe that it's a huge brick, but that is what I expected. The GE60 should be great for both performance and mobility.

Well i play alot of Battlefield 3 and Arma, so im guessing it would most likely be best to go with a faster CPU over GPU

had also been looking at these.

That Asus has a beast graphics card, it's definitely an amazing bang for your buck! GTX 670MX is on par with GTX770M (tiny bit slower) and the CPU is almost as fast as the new haswell, so you would be getting A LOT of gaming power for such a low price.

Here's a review so you can read about non-performance (as well as performance) related things

Btw, that Lenovo, I've heard A LOT of bad things about it. It runs hot like a frying pan and a lot of people had issues with them. It doesn't have nVidia Optimus technology either, so you're looking at half the battery life you should be getting with that spec. And considering you found that Asus at even a lower price than the lenovo, I would immediately forget the lenovo and get the Asus.

My friend got Asus G750JZ himself, you can see, if you can find something like that for a good price.
