Logitech G13 worth it?

I always thought these gameboards are just a gimmick, but when you see your local shop sell it off for 50% of the original price, it starts to get tempting.

Anyone of the people in the community used one of these? Would it be conflicting when I already own a G600 MMO mouse?

Overall, is it worth it? Even at 50% off? or should I just skip on it?

Thanks!

G13, G105, G600
SO, I got Logitech for input.
The G13 is really nice. Imagine moving your camera field in a game while giving your character movement instructions.
For BF4 I use the joystick to fly helicopters because I suck doing that with the mouse.
And if you ever forgot a pizza in the oven, there is a countdown function.

I might sound like I want to sell it to you, but I just really like it.

What does 50% off mean for the price?

There are some alternatives (Razer has the Tartaturs ~$65 and the Orb Weaver ~$130 - both RGB, there's the Delux T9 for $32 - all of them are prices from Amazon.com).

I don't think it would conflict with an MMO mouse. You can never have too many buttons and with the gameboard (Logitech and Razer) you can map the movement to the little stick for your thumb. I find this very convenient. If the prices weren't that high I would've gotten one for myself, probably (and I already have a Razer Naga for the 12 thumb buttons).

I use it when I get time to game. Is worth it, lasted me years. Just more comfortable for shooters, MMO I also use Naga so can have an unreal amount of skills bound.

You'll probably like it.

I have one which I use instead of a keyboard. So I just have the g13 and a mouse. I use this for playing games on the couch as it doesn't requires as much space.

It's pretty nice, although if I were buying one now I'd probably get the orb weaver instead.

OK, help me out here...
As somebody, who doesn't have any of those devices and appreciates his keyboard... Why would i like to get this kind of device? What advantage does this kind of device will give me over the standard keyboard?

sounds sweeet, really leaning on getting one all the more now lol

your shortcuts/macros/button maps don't conflict with one another? I was looking thru Google and some threads showed that their button maps in G600 sometimes conflict with G13.

I am planning to now only use this on games, but for productivity; I have most of my Adobe hotkeys mapped on my G600 and would want more shortcuts with the G13 lol

50% off means 29 bucks; I might look into the Delux T9 but I am, sadly, staying away from Razer products lol have had very bad experiences with that brand.

Yes, that is true! Never can have too many buttons lol I plan to map the g13 not only for games but also for my Adobe software. My g600 is currently mapped that way and I strangely want more lol

Nice! I always felt these gameboards were all gimmick and stuff, but with 50% off, it won't hurt to try it all lol

Yeah, been seeing the Orb Weaver alot but I have had bad experience with Razer products... So I am leaning towards other products, and Logitech has been very good to me for the past years lol

Honestly, that is a question you should ask yourself... do you really need it if you are already comfortable with your current setup?

Personal preferences really.

I like having mapped my hotkeys, let's say in Photoshop or some games, on my G600 mouse, instead of me trying to remember what Hand or Marquee tool is in the keyboard (plus it doesn't help that I switch between many Adobe programs at once, so the hotkeys can get mixed up).

Apart from the G13 being 50% off, I feel that I can add more shortcuts for my productivity or button remaps on it.

Yes, I can use a software like AutoHotKey to create scripts for remaps and whatnot, but sometimes, having a device and a software that can easily do this for me, justifies me getting one.

So it comes down to your personal preference.

The mouse I understand... Everyone can appreciate a couple extra buttons on the mouse...
I was asking for that kind of keyboard replacement. There are cheap ones like the A4tech g100, or those things you are considering... I was just wondering about the reasoning of using thing like that... And personal preference is kind of answering my question...

Ah, at firstm I myself find these kind of gameboards/keypads just a gimmick. No real purpose. But when I saw the sale for the Logitech G13 I started considering the possibilities.

One of the possibilites is like what I mentioned earlier, I have alot of Adobe programs, and each program has their own set of hotkeys; the hand tool hotkey is different for Photoshop, After Effects, etc. So knowing all the shortcuts for each of them can confuse me sometimes.

So I am now considering getting the Logitech G13 so I can have all the hotkeys in finger length and have them mapped in a way where it will become easier for me for productivity.

Sometimes in the regular keyboard, I have to lift off and hit another key while editing, where I would love to just remap all keys close to eachother and the Logitech G13 seems to provide me with such ability.

But if it wasn't for the sale, I might not consider it so much.

So in the end for me, it came down to the budget and what I thought would be useful for me.

Hope that helps! =]

For $29 that's a nice deal. I wouldn't bother then looking at the Delux T9 (never heard of the brand before) and get the G13.

Ha! Tell me about it xD I just sent a ticket to Razer's tech support because my Naga is having problems with the thumb buttons for the second time (already got it replacd once).

Depends on what game and what you're using it for? you could try a linus thing.

I went thru one Naga, a DeathAdder, and a DeathAdder 2013, all break on me with less than one year of use. lol And I do mean, die on me.

That's when I decided not to get anymore Razer products lol And since then have been following Logitech, except their actual keyboards. Can't seem to get used to their new Romer G Switches lol

Yeah, they aren't really known for their quality. The Naga was my best choice of MMO mice here (G600 is too bulky and has the annoying ring finger click, the Roccat Nyth is still too expensive and I don't want that modularity thing, the Corsair Scimitar has the ugly yellow accent and the all-black one wasn't available back then). That's why I went with it. I have to admit that I like their clean style. The lack of quality, the overpricing and their image...not so much.

The ring finger button took awhile for me to get used to; I will admit, it is to light that I can misclick in the heat of gameplay lol strangely, I gotten so used to it, I can't imagine using a mouse without the ring click. Weird.

Yeah the Nyth was kinda off my budget and boy oh boy, I agree, the Corsair Scimitar is plain ugly. I mean, maybe someone will find it pretty or ignore the looks, but I for one am for aesthetics and function.

When I was still into Razer, that was my problem at first, the color scheme lol, I have a blue and black build, and it annoyed me seeing something green when I was using the DeathAdder. lol

I asked Logan if they will ever make a MMO style mouse in the vein of Naga or G600, so far no word on it, but I think he is busy with LanSyndicate (Wish I were there). But seeing the name of the Tek Syndicate mouse as "standard edition", there is hope lol

I use a mix of palm and fingertip grip, so the G600 was too bulky for me. I could've just disabled the ringfinger click but even then accidentaly clicking it would've annoyed the shit out of me. Much better price/performance ratio than the Naga Chroma but still.

I don't really mind the all-black Scimitar. If I keep getting thumb button issues with my Naga I might ask Amazon for a refund and get that one. But first I have to deal with the current issue and see what my options are (RMA, replacement via Amazon, etc).

The market for MMO mice ain't that great. Most of the cheaper ones are all the same. Same chassis with slight differences. I also don't care if the sensor is "the best on the market"; ergonomy, good software for mapping the buttons and good quality buttons are more important to me. Seems like the Naga only covers 2 of those points.

The "only green" lighting thing bugged me too. Before I bought my first Naga I asked Razer if they were planning on releasing a Chroma-version of the regular Naga (they already had the Naga Epic Chroma on the market). They said no, so I bought the regular one with only green lighting. A week later the Naga Chroma popped up on their website and I was pissed. Was able to give it back to Amazon and buy the Naga Chroma, but still....same with the Logitech G502 (although I don't care about that one).

Not sure how anything would conflict but I never had any problems with Logitechs Software.
