Logan's and Wendel's education

I was wondering what kind of formal education you guys have had to be doing this kind of work. It's probably none of my business but was just a little curious. I'm currently pursuing my four year degree in Electronics Engineering, and I love computer hardware stuff. Planning on doing my masters in the US in embedded systems.

What university did you guys go to? Your major?

This was in one of the more recent Inbox videos. At least for Logan.

Logan had no formal education, and studied the art of film.

Nice to know. Makes me want to work harder to justify the piece of framed paper I'm going to be hanging on my wall a year from now. There is still hope in this world. :D

I've had hours and hours of college... just took whatever I wanted to take. They would call me in to the counselors office and remind me that I wasn't ever going to graduate... I really didn't care at all about their piece of paper. Some people need it, but I knew that I would only need it if I was planning on working a job I didn't care much for. I guess I could have gone for science and been a forest ranger or something... but really, I just wanted to do whatever I wanted to do.

I feel torn up sometimes thinking of what I thought pursuing engineering would let me do, and what I actually took from my education. Most of the stuff that I've learnt of value has been outside class. If I'm going to do a 9-5 job in the future and work for X amount of money but hate my job, I'm probably going to quit very soon. How difficult is it to make a living without a formal education? From where I am, it's pretty darn impossible to do anything without a degree.

It's the same in my country. But I have a plan. I decided to fight the system by infiltration. Hard science is in my blood, but that's something I can do on my own. Luckily educations isn't expensive where I live. So I decided to get a law degree. Right now I'm the only law student in my country that knows a thing or two about computers. And I'm always learning more. I figured the world could use more guys with law degrees that actually know what the hell is going on in this ever changing world of technology. I'm just sick of lawmakers who don't have a clue.

I feel the same about lawmakers who pass legislation on tech stuff that they barely understand. Makes me really angry. I bet half of the guys sitting in the parliament wouldn't be able to define what the Internet is, yet they try to pass legislation on it.

Wish I could be that way... if you don't mind me asking how did your parents respond to that mindset Logan?
