Logan how did you get into Chiptune/8-bit music?

Your albums have their own style of chiptune so I wanted to know when did you start listening? Do you have any favorite chiptune artists? When did you start experimenting with/making chiptune music? I know there are hundreds of different chiptune artists out there from the C64 days up to now with things like FL studio and Ableton, do you take inspiration from any of these artists in your music? Also if you don't already know there is an awesome youtube channel called ReclusiveLemming that posts an enormous high quality library of chiptune songs (one of if not the best chiptune channel on youtube) check it out if you have time.

I apologize if you've already posted this somewhere but what VSTs do you use for your music? I've found a few free ones but I have problems with good only 32-bit plugins not being compatible with 64-bit host (Ableton)
