I bougth skyrim on steam (Gabe rape my wallet so hard). and i want to tweek the game a little bit (Graphics/Performance), what mods do you recomend for a n00b like me?. what do and don't do?. Thanks
Man these threads are getting common.
Check out gophersvids on youtube, that is the source you need to reference for modding bethesda games.
Anyway, here are some mods I've recommended in the past.
SKSE and SKYUI are an absolute must. You should probably install those two before you even create your character, the default ui in skyrim is terrible. After that you could look into SMIM, armor mods, convenient horses, ultimate follower overhaul, all of the unofficial patches, iHUD, AHZ more HUD, amidianborn book of silence (all that apply), beards by hvergelmir, face/body mods to taste (I'm somewhat conservative with this, but the vanilla face models are hideous), wearable lanterns, my home is your home, some night sky mods, whatever graphics mods your rig can handle, custom player homes, plus whatever else interests you.
If you have the machine for it you should also get an ENB. I use seasons of skyrim HD6 tribute. Here is a gallery I posted comparing a lot of scenes with and without the ENB enabled.
Some Samples below to whet your appetite. Open each image in a new tab for full resolution.
I should warn you though, Skyrim is a VRAM hungry game when modded.
