Okay so I bought a Nexus 6p lightly used on swappa, and the guy I bought it from factory reset it. Perfectly fine. But the anti theft thing came up telling me I needed to sign into the original owners google account. I'm in contact with him and he gave me the original username and a changed password but it still isn't letting me in. Any help?
Did you do a master reset on it? Hold down the power and volume down button until you get to the recovery mode and there should be an option to do a full wipe and reset.
Yep. Just does the same thing on that too, I also wiped the cache partition.
Ahhh this is the infamous kill switch feature... hmm. I unfortunately never dealt with that yet.
If you can't get ahold of the original owner contact swappa and see if they'll refund you at the very least. If not contact your card company and stop the payment.
I'll try.
You might be able to get around it by flashing a factory image, including bootloader.
But if you suspect the phone might be stolen at all, you probably want a refund.
