Living on my own: Sound proofing (help needed)

Did you use 1 inch furring at 8 foot length, since they are really cheap and light weight?

Yeah any light weight wood frame will do. Its just so that the edges of the rockwool are protected and to make it easier to mount to the wall. In the end its much cheaper to cover most of the walls with one of these panels ever 3 feet or so than the acoustic foam or paneling you can get for recording studios.

Oh small heads up after living here for almost half a year.

Turns out my landlord / neighbour is very deaf and soundproofing is not needed at all.
(He did not even notice the party we had on a weekend after we asked him several times if we where to loud…)

You could potentially do this project for very cheap if you don’t mind the DIY. Since the panels are foam and wood I believe they would insulate your house quite well.
