Plan on buying some new components
Msi Z87-G55 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130727
Is it really worth the 130$? Or can I skimp out a few dollars and get a G45 or G43?
8gb of mushkin ddr3 1600 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226191
or
8gb of Gskill ddr3 2400 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231666
Should I go with the Gskill since its only 2-4$ more?
I also cant tell which graphics card to really buy, I tend to stick to nvidia, My current card is a gtx 260 core 216 lol, so trying to run games better at 1920x1080
Im not a crazy gamer, I'm currently playing dota 2, warthunder and day Z SA lol, but would like the option to run games smoothly in my resolution.
Any input would be much appreciated.
one of the Z87 motherboards i personaly like from msi is the G45-gaming, this is a very decent board. with good feutures, and overclockability. you could also look at a Asrock Z87 Fatal1ty killer, not a bad board for $124
About the ram, i would say go for the mushkins 1600mhz is totaly fine. ram speeds does not matter much for a gaming rig, lower cache latancy is more important. CL9 vs CL11 on the g.skills, i would go for the mushkins.
About your gpu, i dont know what your budget is for a gpu?
I don't have much experience with MSI motherboards, but I do know that is never an area where you wanna skimp. It is reasonably priced anyway so I'd go for it.
For the RAM I wouldn't get either. Bother are very expensive. RAM is RAM for the most part as long as it is from a reputable company. Speed doesn't matter. Really doesn't. You may see half an FPS gain if that. You might even see a loss due to the inherently high latency of 2400Mhz RAM

Buy that. 8GB. 1600Mhz. $68.
As for the GPU, no real reason to stick with nVidia. That is silly fanboism for the most part if you are gaming. Look for whatever performs best for the money in the games you play.
How much are you willing to spend on a GPU? Because if you want stuff to run better at 1080p I'd say get a 780Ti. That is $700 tho. So we need a budget for the GPU then we can decide.
Yes lower cache latancy is better then higher ram speeds. Like i said above.
Sorry lol, your post wasn't there when I began typing
haha no no, i was just agreeing with your knowledge ☺
Thank you guys for the input, I think I will consider the ASRock Fatality Z87 Killer the reviews on newegg seem a little off putting in comparrision to the msi board, Thank you for the Adata ram suggestion, and yeah you are correct I am just being a nvidia fan boy, lol first card I bought was an evga geforce 6600 gt. GPU range im trying to be in the 200-300$ I'm stuck in between a 660 and a 760 leaning more towards the 760 since I read some reviews that it preforms pretty well at 1920x1080, are there any ATI alternatives in that price range?
What would you guys suggest PSU wise, 650w should be enough right but I'll probably need to upgrade to 750w if I ever plan on running sli? I plan on getting an h100i for my 4670k.
I would go with even more than 750W. Don't get me wrong, that would probably be enough for the build even with a little headroom. It wouldn't give you much extra free power in the way of future additions though. Say you wanted to add a couple extra HDDs, maybe a RAID array.
Also, from all the technical documents I've read about PSUs, most 850 or 1000+ W units are built with better internal components to handle such power and are therefore more reliable. These units are usually on the higher end of a given manufacturer's PSU line, and also tend to be very efficient.
if you plan to run sli then a 750W 850W would indeed be a better way to go.. if not 650W is more then enough for single gpu setup.
