Linux ubuntu problems

i just downloaded linux today, and holy shit is it complicated. I am just trying to download my damn amd r9280 drivers and it wont let me. I have seen some videos on youtube trying to show me how to do it using terminal, but i cant get it to work. Whenever it asks me for my password, it doesnt let me type. I saw this one video where this guy just pressed one button in the top right of the screen and it updated all of his drivers. If you cna please tell me how to download the latest drivers from amd.com/drivers i would greatly appreciate it. Linux is all very new to me and i just want to be able to play my games. thanks

not sure how amd works only installed amd drivers once and it was for something really old.. but ubuntu should have automatic drivers i think? i usually dont use ubuntu but look through menus and see if you can find anything related.. but shouldnt amd have any documentation on it? if you can find anything on the website or the file you downloaded read that one

Go to your software settings and click on "additional drivers". It should be there

Follow this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evqpassbyqA .  This will show you how to install the driver in gui mode.
