Linux Thinkpad WWAN

Couldn’t find a existing topic about this.
There’s very little information on running WWAN modems on linux, and anything that does exist is for extremely old kernels and for specific hardware. I’ve got a Gobi 3000 (Sierra Wireless MC8355) in my T420, running arch linux. Has anyone else had experience with this?

Never had any use for wwan on my x200s so never took an actual look at it, but seems to be pretty straight-forward.

All those seem to be for them being implemented in serial. I can see the modem with lsusb but there’s no /dev/ttyUSB* devices.

I just got it working. Installing the packages off the AUR worked.
