Hello,
I did not write it wrong. I actually would say that a more integrated Wine/proton/kvm layer in Linux could bridge most software that does not currently run.
What do you think?
Or is the future just about replacing every single propriotary program or getting big business to develop for Linux?
What about a proper universal app layer then? So we wouldn’t need to hassle about with flat, snap, appimg, .deb and whatnots.

The future is one that is split. One side is the SAAS model full of proprietary software that will be embraced by those who don’t care about or value their privacy nor understand the power and value of their data and the other side is open source software that you own and allow you the maximum about of control over your data. Windows will become a subscription based service and businesses will embrace it because they can’t understand companies like Canonical and Suse offer the same level of support as Microsoft. End who only want to buy a box to do the thing and are happy so long as it does the thing will simply accept that change. But those who understand what their devices are actually doing and why they do them will abandon Windows.
