Sorry to hear yours might have a hardware issue. Recent issues with Phosh session got me thinking about trying UT again to see if it can make a good daily on the pinephone, but I still haven’t seen anything about getting UT 24.04 onto PinePhone (pro). Didn’t seem like it was supported on 24.04 yet.

Yeah, I checked a few places for 24.04, but no dice. I did read somewhere that the PinePhone Pro support is getting handed off to the official ubports team. Not really sure what that means, but with the hault on ppp production I feel like it’s future is bleak. o7
I certainly recommend it, if it’s reliable. I know last time I tried it on the PinePhone it was quiet buggy, but that was many years ago.
Also sorry you’re having issues. Seems like a bit of a rough patch for our linux phones o7
Edit: just checked it’s compatible on the Ubports site & it looks like they fixed carrier connectivity \o/

yeah i see it’s supported under 20.04, but I really didn’t want to bother with that at this point. Hoping 24.04 will become easy to get going on pinephone so I can try it. I actually haven’t had the phosh session poop out on me in a couple days now, so maybe it’s going to behave okay for me.

I’m going to try my hand at Porting UT to a ROG Phone 3 when it gets here.
I’m not happy with any of the officially compatible phones on UT’s site except for the Fairphone 5 which isn’t sold in the US & it doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack.
The ROG phone wouldn’t be the end goal, but if I can do it I will move up to the Sony Xperia 1 V (3.5mm jack, Micro SD, display out, 12gigs ram, CPU that can clock to 3.36GHz*, & no notch)
More than likely this is way over my head, but UT seems to have noob friendly instructions.

Interesting video breaking down UT, porting, & app programming. This contained a bit more expanded info over the instructions in some areas. Mostly posting it here so I don’t loose it, bonus if anyone else is interested, I feel this should be on YT.

Yeah I’m still having weird quirky behavior with Mobian 13. Doesn’t want to wake up upon button press sometimes. Doesn’t want to stay asleep in my pocket sometimes… This hardware is the first 3G ram production. Wonder if there’s some other low-level firmware that can/should be updated. I haven’t figured out what’s going on, haven’t actually dug into it. Just don’t have the drive to deal with this.
