Linux Mint Bootable Installer

Just wondering if I can put the ISO file for Linux Mint onto a USB making it a bootable installer by using Rufus. Would this cause any problems? I noticed that the Linux Mint website/guide didn't say anything about using a USB bootable installer.

Rufus should work fine. I've used a few times for a few different distros.

I wish they would put this in documentation or something. I'm getting sick of using optical discs in this day and age. Either acceptable or unacceptable to use.

Yes Rufus will work fine I used it for this exact purpose yesterday.

Any known issues?

None from what I saw but use USB 2 port on your pc to make the ISO USB stick

Eh, it's less a matter of the distro's support as the installer's. Basically, most distros can be copied to flash drives on Linux using dd except for OpenSUSE (unless they changed that), and most installers will work the same, though they're hit or miss if they install a custom bootloader. You can usually see how good it is if you look it up (e.g. UNETBootIn, LILO, Rufus). As far as I've used, Rufus has worked most every time.

Rufus is pretty reliable.

I do not think anyone still uses Live disk to install an OS, unless they have absolutely no choice. Using live usb is pretty standard procedure. It is just that some documentation is not updated since most think of it as natural. There is not reason for a live iso not to also work in a usb the same way it does on a disk.
