Linux Kernel 4.16 is live

Released on April 1st, Linux Kernel version 4.16 is live: https://lkml.org/lkml/2018/4/1/175

This article here has a bunch of features highlighted, each with a link to their own separate article: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=linux-416-changes&num=1

Each article was apparently created the moment someone noticed it, which explains their older dates.

Caught my eye: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=TR-1900X-Temperature-Fix

Several Ryzen 5/7 and Threadripper processors need a temperature offset for correct temperature reporting. The Ryzen Threadripper 1920X/1950X have a 27 degree offset with the original code landed in Linux 4.15, but the 1900X did not.

I hear the word “IOMMU Group” every now and then on the channel, there’s something in there that sounds at least like an improvement: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Linux-4.16-IOMMU
