Linux: Disable dGPU on battery power (FULL AMD)

G’day L1T Forums!

I’ve been lurking online for some time, trying to find an answer to “How to automatically disable dGPU on battery power” on laptops, but no luck.

This has been stuck in my head for some time, since I plan to go for Framework 16, and my friend runs some ASUS laptop w/ 5900HX and RX6800M, from what I recall him telling me.

I plan to run OpenSUSE Leap on FW16, while my friend was considering to swap to Ubuntu. But I couldn’t find any answer on how one could disable the AMD dGPU in laptop, when it detects to be on battery power. Do GNOME (for him) and KDE (for me, been using it for a while) have options to automate this process in some way, or some variant of auto-disable dGPU? I’ve not been able to find anything useful, so I decided to make this account, since it’s (imo) more trustworthy than many other places I’ve read through. I’d be fine if I would need to write a bash script to run on startup or something, not a big deal to me.

Thank you deeply in advance for any answer on this! Best wishes!
