Okay im building a cheap computer for a friend. And im wondering if there is any LGA 775 heatsinks out there that will fit on a LGA 771 motherboard?!
771!? That's a blast from the past.
It's doubtful, but I have read that the AM3 socket is close, so MAYBE a hyper 212 bracket will fit it since it does both square and rectangular sockets, but that's just a guess.
yeah he told me 2 build him 1 for $150
Here, have a link. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W03XT7898
Just get a lga 775 motherboard and use a lga 771 to 775 converter. LGA 771 is just a way to keep the more powerful intel xeons off the consumer 775 platform.
