@logan,
I picked this up Launch Day at TMO and it's been a great phone/camera so far. I think the one you have is the international version though if it really does have the FM Radio. You can look here for some info on the phone itself. I had the LG L90 before this because of costs (I've simply been buying prepaid phones and inserting my sim), but made the plunge for the following reasons.
1) Camera, this has a Very nice camera that does most of what I'd want out of a budget point and shoot and more. Being a cellphone it has geo-tagging, but the 4K blew me away (checkout the not so hidden demo video on the phone!). It took me a minute to figure out what was going on, but in the middle shooting mode (auto?) there is a slider you can adjust that acts like a real-time image smoother (instant makeup to clear those wrinkles :-p). If you hold down the shutter button in auto, then it will do continuous high speed shooting! My only beef is that there's a noticeable delay in saving the files, but it could be because I've got the quality settings maxed and my SD card is a standard class 10, not the newer U3 cards.
2) That second row of functions in the drop-down Is the Q-slide. This can Also be turned off and added to the software buttons. Note: you can completely customize the software buttons! You can have 5 functions at the bottom in ANY order you wish. Back to the Q, the one key software thing that kept me on the LG was the built-in note software called QuickMemo+. Sure there are others, but it's already there and it allows for customizable screen shots without having to do the hardware screen shot! Not only does it take a picture of the screen, but it lets me do things like write on the image and save it as a merged shot. I used that a ton at work and don't think I could go without at this point. This actually helped me decide between the Note and the G4 since the latter has a better set of hardware specs(I think?). There's the LG Stylo if you wanted the pen thing, but it's basically the L90 + stylus integration.
3) For all that is great, the ability to put in more storage!!! Until they stop making them, I will not go without an SD card slot. Sure, I really don't use that much, but the Option of Upto 2Tb is beyond cool. Note: the internal storage is 32Gb, and you get about 22Gb of that total. Going from the L90 (4Gb of user storage) to this was a dream come true as there's no more having to heavily monitor my apps!
4) Oh the gods of Promos! Ok, so if you Didn't research when buying this domestically, then you may not have known about the promos tied to this phone's launch. If you bought it during the first month, then you can goto LGs website and signup for a Free 32Gb (class 4, bastards) SD card + 2nd battery + external battery charger (will need your phone's charging cord). This all comes out to like a $100 value according to their site. And that's just the LG promo! TMO, during the same timeframe, is offering a free 128Gb (haven't received mine yet) SD card! Being valued the same as the previous promo, I'm hoping to god it's a faster card than what the other promo gave.
For me, it was between this, the S6 and maybe the Note 4. I really wasn't into the whole larger screen thing as it can be hard to get to spots on the screen, one handed. I too have dropped this a ton because of the case, but I'm not entirely worried about it because it's usually when it's in my cellphone pocket and I'm sitting in such a way (on the floor at work in a weird position) that any phone would be falling.
I found out that the NFC was connected via that sticker you see on the inside of the back cover. There's a company (or maybe just one person, IDK) who sells replacement stickers that allow for the Quick Charge! Those that have done this suggest you buy a Samsung quick charger as it seems to work the best. This phone also has support for that case with the open/circular back that allows for things like a quick-glance clock or any of a number of apps you can download.
I'm not sure what your battery issue is about, but I can use mine at work for like 60+hrs. Now that's not watching videos, but that IS the hour drive (one way) listening to my (no data charge!) HQ Pandora stream. Dive into the settings and checkout the smart settings for some cool stuff. As for your battery drain, look into the voice control options (Hey Google!) as that is one hell of a drain (killed my battery in like 8hrs).
Before I forget, this has an IR blaster! I deleted the LG Remote app before I realized it and had to go looking for it again. This saves me a headache at work as our displays don't all turn back on when the power comes on in the morning.
And it has 5Ghz wifi! This was actually one of the important things (I nearly forgot to mention) that helped push me towards it as I really didn't have another (cheap) way to monitor my dual-band network at home. Now I can scan to see what's around me (Wifi Analyzer, Fing, etc) and better tune my router.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with my (financed >.<) purchase. I haven't bought a contract level phone in years, but the above reasons made it for me this time. This is a really streamlined device and I don't see me needing a new device for some time now.
