So seeing the nice price of this monitor I decided to go ahead and buy it.
after a newegg shipping it with purolator and someone putting their boot through my box (fuck that guy) it has arrived.
I have spent about 2 days with it, my initial impression is I fucked up, text was tiny, 4k at 27" at first is almost unreadable.
after confuckulating with Windows DPI scaling I have something I'm happy with.
So for anyone at 4k, here's how to fix windows DPI scaling. set it to 125% or 150% up to you, and manually go to each program and go >properties>advanced>compatibility>disable DPI scalling. that should fix any programs looking like shit and will make them scalling properly or not at all (its really weird but its actually working very well with this)
so now onto the LCD its self, its fucking amazing. Best IPS pannel I have ever used, better than my dell ultra sharp. word of warning the settings are a mess in the OSD so I suggest you just set it to sRGB (which greys out 99% of image options) and you will have something that requires zero work to look amazing. Brightness isn't as good as it could be, but at max brightness its at a pretty good level, but I've owned and seen brighter IPS displays. As for glow their isn't any that I can notice. As for blacklight bleed theirs a tiny bit above the menu, nothing else that I could notice. No noticeable dead pixels or defects either. The mate finish is also very nice and doesn't distort anything.
Onto the rest of the package, it is free sync but I have Nvidia so can't test it (claims 40-60hz) the IO includes 2x HDMI 2.0 1 Dp and 1 mini Dp. the included cables are a shity HDMI cable and a DP to mini DP.
moving on, the stand is decent, fully adjustable, but Dell has better ones, but still pretty good. The only thing I hate about this monitor, the OSD. FUCKING GOD AWFUL. the buttons are these touch sensitive ones, which absolutely suck and are tiring to use. The OSD it self is ok, but likes to annoy you with pop ups like "only use our HDMI cable!" etc, they can be disabled but are on by default and its annoying as fuck.
all in all I totally recommend this monitor, amazing colours and the pixel density is unreal, images and text are super crisp its hard to describe how awesome it is.
