Level1Techs KVM and Apple Monitors

Was searching the forums and didn’t find much information about connecting Macs to Apple-branded monitors through the Level1Techs KVMs.

Specifically I was looking at the:
1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Single Monitor - Two Computer (10gbps) model

I was wondering if others have experience with connecting say an M1 Mac Studio to this KVM and using a Pro Display XDR. I have read that when using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable for the monitor, that would remove my ability to control the monitor brightness. Anyone with knowledge on the matter can confirm if this is true? Any other user experience with this sort of setup? Thanks in advance.

You have to mention something music related before you can summon @Den-Fi.

I think the connection is thunderbolt not displayport? If so the KVm is displayport so yeah brightness control probably would stop working.
