That story:

Reminds me of a story I heard about a guy from the Netherlands who got arrested on terrorism charges. Countries may be wrong in this retelling.

The Dutch government had his IP address tied to some chat messages or something, I don’t recall.

Apparently it took quite a bit of effort to find out what actually happened, namely: The Netherlands had bought an IP block that was given up by India after the lease expired. The IP address they had him tied to was from 5-ish years before that(this is already a story from 2012 or something). Back when the IP address was in a block assigned to India.
