If that vetting rule goes through… I guess I’ll be scraping the two week road trip I had planned, for next year, of Route 66.

The only thing worse than US government overreach is asking the UN for anything… We have a planet run by organized crime, despots and elitists. No thanks, they have some catching up to do before their opinion matters to me.
On the one hand, I’m smacking my forehead at the insanity on both sides of the aisle. We should be vetting people coming from countries with whom we are at war, declared or not (we are currently engaged in active warfare with multiple nations). We should not be vetting everyone this way.
We should also not be engaged in all that warfare - different, but equally important discussion that’s not happening. Absent all the permanent state of emergency, the need for vetting goes away.
On the other, I’m glad that people are starting to ask why we are letting government run amok, but I am concerned that people aren’t learning the real lesson here - its not about which party is in control, it is about the power given to that office. Past abuse of power is not an excuse for ongoing and future abuse. Power can be given and power can be taken. We must stop deluding ourselves that anyone in DC is working for us. They never were, they never will be, few if any founders were dumb enough to believe they would.
We’ve had a run of presidents ever more wildly abusing power and decades of the courts looking the other way “for the children”. This boat either turns soon or it sinks. I vote turn.
We’ve got to move past “your way or my way” and get back to “get off my lawn”. When people create power vacuum by saying “Someone should…”, “someone” shows up to fill that vacuum, but they don’t fix it.
As far as Ajit Poody Pai getting rid of poor peoples broadband its far worse. Kicking out MVNO’s would kill the program as the facility based carriers do not want it. It is a headache, it is time consuming, it is absurdly paper work intensive with multiple audits conducting at multiple levels on multiple states. Because the Lifeline program is quasi-federal the money comes from the feds but the states have great latitudes of what programs they want to be included (although some of that is going away) or just operate differently because Fuck you feds (California and Texas). It is a nightmare the facility based providers don’t want, they have told him such. Just porting the current MDN’s to a new provider would be insanely time consuming.
So If I turn up at the border and say I have no Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc… they will just send me back? Looks like I will not be visiting usa any time soon.
I feel sorry for Assange. Being stuck inside a flat for 5 years must cause clinical depression. He can’t even see his family. Snowden is stuck in Russia but at least he can go outside without being arrested.
You guys should really be posting the full news video to a different channel, long videos with low views will tank the algorithm
because they remain unlisted, I don’t believe this is the case. Or else any channel with a lot of unlisted videos would be penalized?
I’m fairly certain it’s whatever videos you upload to the channel, Steve from Gamers Nexus moved his patreon content to his personal channel so it doesn’t affect the main one.
Low view count videos don’t seem good for the channel, even if it’s unlisted or private.
We have been told by our youtube contact that no video that gets views while unlisted will ever be on “trending” because of past bad actors, but that having the patreon content unlisted on the main channel does not affect the rest of the channel.
The regular news videos getting < 100 views, being separate, mean that they are eligible for trending. The patreon news video would never be because 1) unlisted 2) it gets more than 100 views while unlisted
I’d just be sure to play on the safe side given how youtube is always changing.
