Level1 KVM + DP Repeater limited resolution m1 mac

Hello,

I have the level1tech 4 pc DisplayPort kvm.

KVM is connected to Neo G9 over fiber,
Works great with PC (240hz full resolution no problem)

I have two of the edid cloners, but am currently just using with a macbook pro (m1 variant)

I am using the edid cloner to solve two issues (going to sleep/locking when flicking through kvm, and some instability issues I believe are caused by the cable, have a moshi coming in now)

The problem is when using the repeater my max resolution is 3840x1080 instead of the 5120x1440. This holds true for the pc or macbook.

Is this a known limitation of the repeater or am I doing something wrong?
