It is amazing - up until today I was a avid fan of Thinkpads and since the brand was bought of Lenovo as well;
But as of today I know that their support is rubbish; The slot loading SD card reader broke; the slot- and eject mechanism broke into two pieces; So that a SD card will stay stuck all the way inside and cant be pulled out without tweezers;
The little tiny plastic mechanism containing a spring just broke; its literally sub 1mm of plastic that made up that piece and now they insist that this is not a failure and are playing the waiting game…
To be honest, if your not a company buying hundrets with a company service contract… hands off thinkpads… the service is below… subterranean low =(

took me over an hour to get a VERY rough estime on how much it would cost to get my lenovo y70 fixed. Lenovo support in general sucks.
I have a 3 year extended, next workday on site, accidental damage warranty!
OK, so I spent the whole day to speak (over a crappy VoIP line on Lenovos side) and e-mail with some east European tek guy; Sent pictures of the INSIDE of the SDC slot! that is a 4mm high hole in the case O.o (well size of an SD card ^^) and the broken piece of shit plastic is way down inside the slot... so how on mother earth do they think one can make pictures of that shit.
sorry... i know I am ranty right now, but I am boiling... that black piece of crap still costs 2500€

the metal back of my screen is held onto the hinge with plastic.
Oh dear; well thats what I actually always loved about Thinkpads that the hinges are metal connected to metal; and actually they never failed;
10 years of Thinkpads; and than the first issue and support fucks it up like a pro... I am disappointed.
The shit thing is, that the SDC reader is soldered to the mainboard; so a repair will be ~ 1000€ as to replace the board with everything on it (CPU, GPU, have the RAM...)
