Legend of Korra Season 2

What are your thoughts on Legend of Korra in general and specifically events occuring in season 2?

Thoughts on characters? Future seasons? Anything. :)

I saw the finale last week, I thought it was "Good"

On its own, I like the show, it has a nice story. Especially with the history of the first avatar. But the mechanics are a little off compared to the first series.

There isn't really a sense of awe, or adventure in this one. There isn't really that much action. The Avatar state, which was a HUGE deal in the first series, is a joke in this one, with Korra going into it whenever she pleases, and it not really increasing her strength. When  Aang went into it, he could devastate an entire city.

That, and Korra could use all of the elements to some point. From birth, when she was a child. And she seemed to learn wind very easily, with little to no practice (although the "struggle" was played up un the first season.) She seemed to just magically get great at it.

Aang struggled, fought, and trained hard to master all of the elements.

I just didn't feel a connection with the new characters. Nothing like the first series.

There seems to be much more focus on the characters to the point where the bending takes a back seat, but at the same time, they've focused so much on these characters that the magic and connection seems less than it was in ATLA. So I dunno, I certainly thought season 2 wasn't bad, it was a little better in the first one, it's saving graces being the cameos of old characters like Wan Shi Tong and Iroh. Still don't understand how Korra's energybending spirit is better than the ancient spirit of chaos without Raava. But ok...

I did like some of the characters path, and they definitely didn't need to cut Eska and Bolin off especially after the 180 their relationship had during the finale. It was actually refreshing to see Bolin actually find someone, only to just have the writers discount it.

Also, I hope that Korra will use season 3 to individually re-establish her connection, maybe not with all the avatars, but at least Aang, Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk, and Yangchen. For some variety and all. And she'll definitely have to deal with problems between the newly opened spirit world and humans. So that'll be interesting too. Korra is clearly not spiritually connected still, even after all these so called feats of spiritual strength like that big blue spirit form and energybending and all. She has little spirituality and I think that it's gonna be made clear she made a terrible decision to keep the portals open. Now humans can go into the spirit world. Bad news brewing methinks.

ive watched and i think the ending of season 2 was the best yet, though the beginning of the season was quite boring in my opinion

The first 1/3 or half of it was really boring and was more of some stupid teen drama with Korra being a pissed off little girl. I actually cheered for Mako making sense in the whole situation. Later on it got a shit ton better, especially with the first Avatar and the finale was awesome.

I hope Season 3 is better.
