Latency on ASMedia controllers?

Found these two on Ali and they use ASMedia1064 and ASMedia1182E as controllers. Anyone happen to know how much they increase latency? I was thinking of using them as cache disks were raw throughput is less important. They’re of course not as good as the PEX chips, but both these cards are like $25 which is a looot cheper.

Not the one below.

ASM1064 is a SATA-controller and a rather old one

Ah yes, the quad card is for sata only. Thanks for pointing out.

Just get a ASM1164 / ASM1166 based one and be done with it?

It’s the x1 nvme controller I want mainly, to put something in those x1 slots.

Something like this? MZHOU NVMe M.2 SSD M Key to PCIe 1x Adapter | Raspberry Pi PCIe Database

For two nvme, like the one in the first post.

It’s PCIe 2.0 = 5 Gbit/s, i.e. a bit slower than SATA.

PS. A board like this is 3.0/4.0, so if your motherboard supports higher speeds, you could use one NVMe at 8 or 16 Gbit/s at an even lower price. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005924920287.html
