What do you guys think of lastpass is it safe
I am against any and every password management tool, even built into the browser(s) I use. I remember my passwords, it isn't that hard, is way more secure, and doesn't leave you in a ditch if you remove LastPass, only to be locked out of all of your accounts because you were too lazy to remember your esoteric passwords.
I have an encrypted document on my computer with most of my passwords, but I remember all of them, it's just for emergencies.
I use lastpass to store passwords for accounts that I don't care about (which is pretty much everything other than bank/paypal accounts and associated e-mails).
It's very convenient because passwords are synced across many browsers and you can access them from the web.
It's proprietary and therefor not safe. But if you're using Windows nothing is safe anyway.
I for one use gnome-keyring (libsecret). Just make sure you have a separate password for the keyring and multiple backups.
