Laptop screen as monitor

I had a laptop die on me and while going though it for parts worth keeping i remembered what Wendell did with that sorta kinda i pad screen which was freaking amazing. its just a control board. cost about 32 dollars. what i am wondering is if maybe someone on here knows a better or cheaper way. Maybe one that is easy to update if i want to use it on a different LCD in the future. Thanks

Unless the panel is perfectly matched for that very specific control board it won't work. The ipad hack worked because the used a perfectly matching control board.

I forgot the site, but you have to order a board for the individual panel model, it's a bit of a process.
