I have a gateway m series laptop. When I try
to install windows vista on the laptop. I can not create a partition. I keep
getting an error code when I try to partition it. [Error 0x80042453]. On this
same page it all so says "this computers hardware may not support booting
to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computers
bios menu. Im not sure if I need a new hard drive or if this is an easy fix. Any
help would be greatly appreciated 
I had a gateway M360 that i destroyed because of a recurring problem (I hated it) but on startup try hitting F11 and delete everything on the partition. Â (If you dont care bout whats on there) And then try to install vista.
ill try that... but i dont think there are any partitions on the drive.. ill try it and tell you what happens.
bump... i still cant figure out how to fix it.
