Hey there, just wondering if anyone could help me.
Just spent a good hour opening and closing my laptop (case) to no avail, my fan's making quite a loud noise.
It did it about 3 months ago and I fixed it by jostling the fan into place (I assumed that it was off of its pivot) and that worked, kind of, until now.
Now though I've tried doing the same thing, I've cleaned the entire fan (taking it out and doing so, stripping down to as far as it would let me go) but now it seems even worse.
I'm almost definite that the fan is making contact somewhere but I can't determine where, any suggestions for a course of action?
Please note: I'm talking about a laptop fan here and I don't fancy replacing it as that'll cost about $100 (proprietary I believe) plus $50 shipping. Warranty isn't an option as the MSI 'repair specialist' voided it when he fixed my entire motherboard failing problem...
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

If you cant see any obvious sign of contact it may well be that the bearing in the fan has gone. The only option would be to get another fan.
As to the Warranty, how was it voided if a certified MSI engineer fixed it. That doesnt make much sense.
No, it doesn't make much sense. I'm assuming the warranty is void because he tampered with the sticker and didn't replace it, maybe he's was just being lazy?
And yeah, I believe you're right.
Thanks
I replaced my laptop fan a while back, if you have the model number of the fan we can help you try to find a replacement.
