What LAN Party? Where?
So here's the dealio, the Central Coast of NSW Australia (google maps link) has alot of gamers, but no where that I've seen (other than Sydney) for the gamers to meet up, share some laughs, and have a great time.
Enter LANFrost, a LAN Party for Central Coast Gamers and anyone who wishes to come to our beautiful little piece of the world.
Right now LANFrost is only in the planning stages and needs community input and support to make it a reality. Firstly we'll need some idea of how many people will be attending and what your expectations/wishes are so that we can find a suitable location and be able to ensure that we have the right equipment and/or goodies to make the event a success.
Here is a google form asking some simple questions so that we can start to make this a reality, Please only fill out the form if you are genuinely interested in a first rate LAN event in this part of the world.
Details we've got so far:
- Party will be in Gosford, NSW, Australia (Access via public transport or private vehicle will be very easy)
- First Event will be in either May or June depending on interest from the community
- Event is planned to be Annual, Half Yearly, Quarterly, or Bi-Monthly again depending on interest (we would love for this to be one of the best events you've ever been to so we will be selecting timings that help us get the most (yet quality) people to the event on a regular basis)
- There will be tickets sold to the event to cover items such as venue hire, food, drinks, gifts, etc. Currently we are expecting a price of around AU$100 but the more people who come will mean the lower we can make the ticket price.
- Gaming and Drinking is awesome, it helps some people unwind, and just causes hilarity for others, we are planning this to be an alcoholic event for those over the legal drinking age of 18. The ticket price of AU$100 will include some (but not all) of your alcoholic beverage requirements (Sorry no BYO, we don't have the liquor license to allow it). Please Drink Responsibly!
- Food will also be included in the ticket price, this includes snacks and pizza.
- There will be "Official" LANFrost tournaments for those who wish to test their "mad skilz" with prizes for the winners
- Mod Contest: Bring your Badass PC Mods to be judged and win prizes.
- General Shenanigans and Hilarity will most surely ensue.
How likely is this to happen?
In one word? Very. I will be the main organiser of the event and I am willing to throw my company behind it to get this happening. How can I say this is very likely? well I am a project manager by trade and making things happen on time and on budget is my thing, I've already put these skills to use opening my own business and I'll do it again in the hope that this can be one kick ass LAN.
