I'm planning a pretty hefty LAN party in the upcoming weeks (Thanksgiving weekend-ish in the States), yet I'm lacking an idea on games that are universally awesome for anyone to pick up easily and can be played for hours. Along with the sentient race of the PC, there will be consoles (Gamecube or Wii, PlayStation, Xbox 360) to play; I'd like an idea of what console games fulfill the same qualities of the PC game recommendations. Many thanks.
Loadout, Minecraft, Serious Sam, jut to name a few that I usually play with friends.
+1 to Loadout. Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament, Super Smash Bros Brawl with Dolphin Emu, Call of Dooty,
Counter-Strike, TF2, GMod, HL2:DM are all great cheap source games. There are some great indie local multiplayer games for PC as well, like No Good Can Come From This and Nigghog.
Unreal 2004
Battlefield 2
Starcraft
Warcraft III
Age of Empire II
Nfs Most Wanted 2005, 1nsane, to add some car games.
Borderlands (any of them), CS GO, GMOD, Super Smash Brawl from Dolphin, and Civilization Co-Op if you are into that.
Doom, Halo, minecraft, sooo many more.
