I haven't played games on my laptop in over 4 months, last time i did i could max everything out....at the laptops native resolution anyway, gameplay was fluid, today i installed fifa13 and it stutters morethan lagging actually (the other word seems more appropriate) I've tried reinstalling and updating drivers, direct x etc, lowering the graphics to the lowest possible in all games currently installed on my machine fifa12, fifa13, codmw1, mw2, mw3, blackops, ghost recon, even commandd and conquer, reinstall windows maybe?
Check your temps and the available space on your hard drive. Things could be getting too hot, or you could simply have barely any space left on your hard drive. I know on my last build I nearly filled it up and games ran like shit because of it.
I wouldn't say to reinstall Windows right away, that seems excessive. If the above things aren't the problem, try defragging (I use Defraggler) and clean up your hard drive a little (CCleaner is perfect for this). Hope this kinda helps!
