Lab monitoring

Hello all, I have started a mission in our work lab to actually monitor it properly ( previously almost no monitoring was done)
couple of hundred vms managed by techs for testing, so they are regularly torn down and reinstalled or changed in odd ways.
For ups and switches we are using nmis currently.
For everything else I have installed spiceworks but I want ALL of the things on spiceworks, does anyone have any experience with APC UPS or juniper switches and getting spiceworks to see all of the SNMP events also adding custom OID’s. I can’t see temp for ups or load on switch specifically but there are other issues with win server 2012 connections such as viewing configuration.

Any gotchas or pointers would be greatly appreciated

Also starting to use graylog for siem to monitor the esxi’s anyone have any experience with that.

I like centreon but some/most people go with nagios instead…
Ive also heard of solarwinds.

Nagios xi is 2k. Solar winds I have seen before. Ut again too expensive for something that’s is a constant state of flux. What does centreon have to offer?

Mixed environment, linux appliances windows server managers windows tests win 7 mainly and centos

Should do everything nagios can do.

Will give it a look thanks. Any ideas on the spiceworks?
