It is indeed a very nice looking car. Congrats on the purchase, and may it happily take you many miles down the road!
What’s the engine, transmission, etc? (Probably too big for average European sensitivities…)
I must admit I got used to the higher entry/seating position of crossovers, and I struggle a bit with the comparatively lower entry/seating position of ‘conventional’ sedans and hatchbacks.
The rims look very similar to the ones on my Opel Crossland, which may be a remnant of when Opel was part of the GM conglomerate:
Thank you!
Some good info here: https://www.kbb.com/chevrolet/malibu/2022/
People shit on the malibu cars for having a very basic engine and whatnot, they’re a “value” car, but I am so content with all of it hah. I’ll take that savings any day. I believe it is 1.5 liter and only 160 horsepower. I don’t plan on anything besides commuting to work and going to eat lol
Yes same lol I had an SUV before this, it was very nice to be up high.
I think you’re right, GM does own Chevy.
I noticed your front license plate,
Hm, I don’t know what I’m going to do if I have to go to a state that requires front and back license plates (like New York). There’s no mount for one. They might understand I’m not from there lol idk
Pretty standard displacement, and decent(-ish) horsepower, for European standards anyway. My previous car (Citroën C3) had the 1.6L base engine with only 75hp, that was a bit of a drag. My current one (Opel Crossland) with 130hp from 1.2L turbo has decent acceleration, and can keep up with traffic.
I guess the best thing to do with a modern Nissan is to SR20 it:
*SR20DET
Since newer vehicles are heifers, compared to chassis [they once resided in]
I could be wrong, but I think you have to be pressing in the brake to change gears with those
Currently Looking into replacing my Audi A6 C7 3.0 TDI with an S7 or Panamera 4s 970. Does anyone here had some expierience with them? Not looking into buying something newer with more screens then my homesetup with pcs…
The Panameras interior, doesn’t seem to have, much new-age filth [plenty of buttons/dials]
Would the planned S7, be of similar gen / model-year window? [as the Panamera]
I have driven a C8 A6 [3.0TDi], as a rental car, few years back
It was such a joy to drive, cutting along some weavy roads and firm yet forgiving ride
… But I had an innate hatred, towards the interior console [touchscreen HEAVY]
The S7 would be also gen C7 so no touchscreen and buttons. Don´t know why but i hate it when basic functions are hidden in a massive touchescreens. I want to focus on driving and not finding the n.th submenu to turn of my windshield defrost
The boomer mentality is starting to creep into me and just want an early 2000’s vehicle so I don’t have to deal with stuff like that. The only thing I would want is a backup camera that I can just install myself.
My biggest realization though when it comes to older vehicles is that low miles means just about nothing, age is a money pit.
My introduction, to the interior:
I spent 10(+)min, swearing enough to falsely impersonate a sailor, fussing with them screen(s)
As they couldn’t be feccin BOTHERED, by any means of contacting the screen
This forward chairs look like people with heads bowed in prayer…
I absolutely hate car chairs that push your head forward. Hyundai is particularly guilty of it.
What is it about car manufacturers and thinking people like to hunch forward?
Funny enough, I’ve passed on a large number of otherwise wonderful cars specifically because of this shit.
This is the first time i think someone compared me to a boomer But yeah, I kinda get your point. I see older cars which are not maintained properly are a money pit.
