The Lounge is spilling out /s
@Trooper_ish
Garage is a lounge anyways and I was biking
I used to race. I think @MisteryAngel @SgtAwesomesauce both also use to race?
But I was mostly street not track.
Operation will need to be, clutch AND timely…
Since multiple SPICY pillows, are nestled within this floating garage
Yeah, well my current Volvo isn´t that great at cornering lol.
Coil overs… Lower stance… Add a couple sway bars for rigidity and start drifting
I used to race SCCA in a now defunct class, i think it was SDA or something like that- basically a modified street class - no cage, street tires etc. Had tien flex w/edfc, aftermarket sways, braces up the yinyang, bucket seat.
I learned i was meh- average at best, but still very fun.
Most are but I won a couple pinks and paid some of my college tuition. Didnt bother keeping. It was just for fun for me
My 2jz-gte build is going to make the car even suck more in an scca autox environment (3uz or ls2 would be much better - N/A poweband and actually weighs less/better f/r balance.
Guess im a straight line boi now.
Our Volvos are FWD o7
One of the biggest reasons I got a bimmer, but I’ll be real, I think the Volvo is a better made car, even compared to my $80k (when new) Bimmer.
There’s straight up dollar store toy plastic in here!? Wut?
Guess I haven’t shared my Bimmer here yet.
2016 BMW 535d (diesel) Xdrive (AWD)
0-60mph in 5.5
37mpg
Picked her up for just shy of 10k
I was waiting to share when I got more proper pictures.
i already got a bar at the shock towers but i need more lol.
Fun is what it’s all about.
I found out modifying cars is addictive.
Once you start you can’t stop. And you start having issues with the mandatory yearly inspections (they are really picky here in Belgium😅)
Projects are never finished
For example… Anubis:
50 Ah lifepo4
Stage 4 212cc Predator.
Fogs
Headlights
Underflow
3d printed secure removable mount for a soundcore boom 2 plus for actually nice audio that’s super loud if I need it to be
Full front and back turn signals
Tail light
Brake lever light
Waterproofed instrument and swith panel
Full onboard USB PD 100W
Full onboard fast charging for Apple, oppo and Samsung devices
This project stage is finished!!
Next is a heated seat - true black out leather upholstery and a 3d printed secure mount for a Soundcore Boom 2 Plus so I can absolutely blast music while riding. Everythings build to off road standards.
Oh and the secret ingredient to add oxygen at altitude
Hidden under the seat super out of sight is a tank with nitrous used sparingly to add O2 to the burn at 10000 ft so I dont lose power on a carburetor based system… I dont use it for boost as its too much. So I use it to get the air mixture back to sea level LOLLLL and I refill it with whipcream canisters. A couple to a few last the entire time im up that high
The entire build is methanol rated thanks to my genuine custom built Mikuni 32 flatside but thats in the garage. Id have to tune before tomorrows ride so its waiting… But the goal is… Nitrous for temporary boost or if I know ill sustain altitude for the entire time… Methanol mix
So whats up with the high-beam trend?
In SoCal its gotten worse and worse and now that I went on travel and came back its even more obvious how a really high rate of people drive around with their high beams on.
And I’m not being a boomer confusing just really new (and questionably certified) cars where the low beams are so powerful it seems like high beams are on, but I’m taking note that the actual second lamp is on (or often its the DRL bulbs switched to full power and you can see the two ‘cones’ of two bright bulbs/LEDs/HIDs/etc side-by-side).
Is it a gen Z thing? Particular immigrant group thing? Idiocracy ‘they don’t even know its on/whats that indicator on the dash?’ thing? Generalized reduction in IQ/EQ that lights go brrrrr but you are blinding everyone else?
In europe some manufacturers integrated a sensor so get high to low beams when the car sees a another one so people drive withe their high beams on all the time. This works just barely, sometimes too slow to react and you get blinded a few times on a drive of 10 km (6miles).
That’s just making people less involved in their driving and something that makes me mad.
Guess some (or a lot) of them don’t know what the dash is for.
I’ve heard of this. Sad how much we need to rely on tech to solve idiocracy problems (crash avoidance, blind spot warning, oncoming traffic high beam etc).
The truck has a light bar up front, pods in the back. If I’m peeved enough I counter light with light.
On that note some idiots are driving around with a massive amount of aftermarket lights (bars, brush lights etc) on as well. I’m really leaning on its a generalized idiocracy trend (generalized lower IQ/EQ).
I’ve witnessed it- works rather wel-
I do understand, in gaining additional light sources, when roughing it out
Or driving through areas, where lighting is dogwater
But 0 ol’ need, to run the entire front stack of aux lights, when perusing town
[in broad daylight]
Slightly more disappoint trend, are all these “builds,” never to venture past asphalt
