L1's Garage

Put my intake back in my truck. Now I hear the difference from the stock one.
All I want is a V6 with a deep tone.
And recommendations on resonators to get out higher pitches?
Eventually want to move from the 2.75 pipes to 3.5 or 4 inches.
I assume mufflers/resonators get hard to find in that pipe diameter?

Oh yeah. Sounds much much better. After a nice 60 Mile round trip. It’s sounds much throatier with lower tones. Ain’t never going to be a V8 but I think it sounds alright now.

It will also be RWD with 4WD switchover.

Because.

Alternatively it’ll have a big ass 8 - 10 cyl marine engine.

Mazda 323 GTX? Except that’s AWD with a locker in the center diff to make it 4x4. Unfortunately we (in the US) as usual got a detuned version.

Since you’re wanting to go so crazy with your build I’d recommend just poking around Craigslist, stealerships, and Facebook for something cheap and oddly cool. A 1,500lb Geo Metro would be very interesting… if you have a death wish. If you can’t stomach the Geo there’s also the is Suzuki Swift. Lol

No room for what I wanna do in a geo anything. Same for most suzuki’s.

Ah I spotted you @SgtAwesomesauce. I didn’t know you where a Chevy boi.

Form this vid…

I didn´t find a car that i´m liking within my current budget.
So i´m likely going to let the clutch repaired.
Going to cost me like 500 euro.

Youch well with that repair… how long will it keep going?

What are you currently driving? VW?

I can get behind old chevys. Not a huge fan of their new stuff tho.

Likely till next year may when it needs a new mot.

Is it that bad that it needs a new motor? Whats wrong with it. Whats symptoms is it giving?

It’s that inspection she has to do in her country. Not actually her motor.

Haha yup.

@PhaseLockedLoop the engine is okayish, although it does need some work as well.
But i’m likely not going to do that work anymore.
The clutch currently is the biggest repair that needs to be done.
After that, the car is drive able again.

Timing belt + waterpump still have like 8 to 10K km’s left.
So i’m likely not going to do that anymore.
The engine also has an issue with valve ticking and a little oil leak.
But that is something i’m not going to address anymore.

I’m kinda hoping that the clutch repair is going to help me,
stay mobile for like 8 months.
And in the mean while i’m looking for a different car.
And i might likely buy a new car soon, depending on what my garage gets in as an occasion.

I told the men a few cars that i would like that fit within my budget.
So he’s looking out for me.

  • Fiat Bravo 2007 - 2010.
  • Ford Focus MK2 2006 - 2008.
  • Fiat Grande punto 2006 - 2010.
  • Honda Accord.
  • Mitsubitsi Lancer.
  • Alfa Romeo 159.
  • Mercedes C class.
  • BMW E46 320i or 325i.

He also deals allot in volvo’s and told me that if i ever drive a nice S60,
that i will likeky never want something else.
So when he gets a nice S60 or V70, he will also contact me for a test drive.

Alright on your next car try to get one with a timing chain. They dont snap like timing belts and are much more reliable. Ive got a chain in mine… its 400k and not stretched quite yet. They give you peace of mind especially on an interference engine

Thats good. Also how do you know its the waterpump and not a malfunctioning thermostat  they have really similar symptoms and they are vastly different in replacement costs + labor.

Great cars. Try to get the 08

Solid

Money pit when it ages

This is true. The older S60s were solidly built to for the most part…
