KVM for iMac + MacBook Pro with Shared Monitor

Hello,

I’ve got a monitor that I share as a 2nd monitor for my iMac and as the primary monitor for my Intel MacBook Pro. I’d love to use a KVM to switch between the two machines. I use separate BT apple keyboard/mice between the 2 computers. I came across a video on LTT showing that your company (level1Tech) seems to cater to these more special applications.

I’ve tried other KVM solutions, and so far, I find that 1 or the other MAC (iMac or MBP) doesn’t always turn the screen on after switching the first time. Also, I have found that switching the display sometimes (or maybe always) removes the display from the iMac I’m switching away from which causes all the windows to re-adjust and reposition on the remaining iMac screen when I switch to the MBP.

In my use case, if I have something on the shared display from the iMac, and I switch to the MBP, I want that window to stay on the non-visible shared display, and show up again on the same monitor, without resizing or repositioning the applications when I switch back to the iMac.

Also, in my use case, since I have separate keyboards and mice, I’d ideally like to minimize the cabling, and not have addition USB cables and USB keyboard/mouse hanging around.

Would one of the level1Tech KVMs support my use case?
