KVM ET3122B feedback and suggestion

Hey, bought a PAAG-ET3122B and wanted to give you my feedback.

Since starting to use the KVM I have learned that

  • my Razer Deathadder is not a HID compliant device and needs to be run from a non-HID port.
  • my Corsair K70 will run from a HID port but will then periodically disconnect and reconnect (causing Windows to go bleep bloop bloop). I now also run this from a non-HID port. According to “the internet” this might be because the K70 consumes a lot of power that the port cannot deliver but I don’t believe this after a few days testing.

Actually both of these devices are composite devices with HID compliant (maybe) AND non-compliant components (for the RGB crap I guess). It’s this composite thing that causes the problems with the HID ports I think.

Anyway now both non-HID ports on the KVM are in use (this works fine so far) and I had planned to connect some more devices like the webcam.

So the question is can the HID compliant ports be switched to normal USB (asking with no knowledge at all about the technology, and yes there goes all your work to make them HID compliant)?

Alternative according to USB Device Tree Viewer there are more ports available in the KVM ('s USB hub chip), is there a way to connect these up?

However love the product, it works flawlessly with a Samsung Odyssey G9 5120x1440 @ 120Hz and some other monitor which was the goal.

Cheers, Bart

P.S. when buying the next keyboard and mouse I will pay attention to true and non-composite HID compliancy.

Add a USB hub on a USB3 port and you should be good. Hid ports don’t support hubs.

I hope more custom keyboards go the way of qmk because compositing hid devices do have a side channel spec like serial for control
