I feel like it wasn’t all that long ago that there were a plethora of “semi-reject” LCD panels bundled into products from random Korean companies like Microboard and AMH, among many others.
L1Techs going back to the TekSyndicate days was a big consumer of these and there were reviews from @wendell and alot of forum posters.
But that whole cottage industry seems to have died. Anyone have any ideas as to what happened? Even Wasabi Mango seems like it’s gone and that was super popular for a while.
While granted I have personally sold my Microboard 4k 43" monitor from back in the day and now daily drive a 42" LG C2, I’m disappointed there aren’t more options out there.
I just noticed my QNIX 27" 1440p monitor, which was the first 1440p I was ever able to afford and get, is still out in the garage. Although its probably no longer working after being out there all winter. I used to have a love hate relationship with the glossy screen. I remember it was DVI only and I would have liked more input options, as well as a more standard power cable. The only other real complaint I had was that the stand was built into the frame of the monitor and removing the base if you were to VESA mount it, would leave part of the stand just sticking out below.
TLDR; I had one, I kind of miss it, I still have it in the garage…wonder if it works…
