Hello Friends! By the way, Merry Christmas (if you're into that sorta' thing). Due to it being Christmas, I was planning on purchasing a mechanical keyboard for myself. I've been researching nearly all day... And I can't seem to find a half decent one with good reviews and in my price range. It's so frustrating, it makes me want to rumage though a junkyard just to look for a Model M. There have been a couple that have really struck me, but they either have kind of "eh" reviews, or they have annoying features (such as obnoxious back lighting). Also, to note: I prefer MX Cherry Blues or Browns. And i'm not such a big fan of full keyboard backlighting, but I could deal with it. Also, the most I will spend on a Mechanical Keyboard is about the price of the Das Model S (About $120.00, any higher is just ridiculous in my opinion.)
Awesome Name, Celeritas represents "c" (or the speed of light) in Einstein's most famous equation E=mc² or better in full length; E²= (mc²)² + (pc)². By the way I am a big Physics Geek. And, it would go with my Zowie EC1 eVo.
I have the Blackwidow (not ultimate) 2012 version and I love it except for the glossy-ness. The new one is matte so that makes it so much better so I think I would go for that.
This is what you should do. Ignore all the stuff you just posted, and ignore all the stuff about how great the Black Widow is. Das makes solid keyboards, but ignore that too. Fuck, ignore everything, because you can get THIS. And you can get whatever you want, exactly as you want it.

Go look at the reviews on youtube and various PC forums - you'll find them to be quite positive.
PS - WASD keyboards uses the same OEM as Filco. This is about as high-end as you're gonna get, for the most part.
I got the Blackwidow for Christmas (not backlit) and I like it a lot. It felt weird for the first few hours of typing on it and I noticed myself making a lot more typos, but I'm gettting used to it now. The Blackwidow's glossy finish looks nice and modern but keep a microfiber cloth around becuase your fingers will leave annoying smudges on it. Can't really say much about it in comparison to the others due to the fact that the only keyboard I ever owned before it was a $10 Logitech. For only $70 I think it's a really good keyboard.
I'm using an Ultimate S, it is fantastic. Pretty much, you can't go wrong with any mechanical keyboard. Likely you whichever one you buy, you will become used to, and fall in love with it. They are all nice and well put together...at least that's my take on 'em.
Get the Das or CM, the others just aren't that good, higher failure rates, cheaper less consistent components. The razer keyboards are trash. Das is the best by a mile.
I thought that I would just wake up this thread instead of starting a new one.
I am now typing on my Logitech rubber dome keyboard and want to get myself some mechanical goodness. I would appriciate it if you told me which one of the following keyboards you would get:
1. Rosewill RK-9000BR mx brown 89€
2.Tesuro Durandal G1N mx brown 85,50€
3. Rosewill RK-9000BRI mx brown 94,90€
4. Zowie Celeritas mx brown 107,90€
Of course, if you find another keyboard with Finnish layout, cherry mx browns and around 100€ then please go ahead and tell me.
I just got the das ultimate with mx brown yesterday for gaming and work. I got it to become a better typer and once I finish school this year and get a job, I can use it at work for a little recognition. So far, the brown switches haven't made as much as an impact as I thought coming from a razer lycosa, but I have not gotten used to blank keys so I can't really comment yet. The keys are pretty high quality too.
I was debating between das ultimate and Steelseries g6/2 but money didn't matter so I got the das and I needed a regular right shift key for my current job.
