Keyboard & Mouse Stopped Working After USB 3.0 Driver Update!

Hi everyone,
I recently built my very first pc and installed windows 7, after that i popped in the drivers disc from my msi motherboard and installed all the drivers,I then began doing windows updates. Once i completed all of the windows updates i download the latest drivers from the MSI website and my graphics driver. I started by installing the Killer Lan driver and rebooted, everything was going well... until i installed the usb 3.0 driver! I rebooted and my keyboard and mouse weren't working!! This only happened in the windows 7 login prompt, however it was working fine in the BIOS. I need some help to fix this problem, i tried plugging in another mouse and still nothing... I was thinking of re-installing drivers from a usb stick but i dont know how to go about doing that.. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!

That does not exist. It would either be the z87 or z97, or the x79 or the x99. Judging by the cpu, you must have the z87 board.

I've done this before sadly, sometimes the driver installation goes bad due to whatever issue and "brakes" whatever it was meant to fix/improve. If I recall I was able to roll back to before I installed the driver and redid it without the bad downloaded driver. I know it is time consuming but, worst case just reinstall windows. It sounds like you have a fresh build anyway. I recommend that if you are downloading any files of importance that you use a browser with a build in smart download manager like Chrome or Firefox has or you get a third party one.

Futhermore, you shouldn't even need to install usb 3.0 drivers.

So you're saying the only way to fix this problem is to re-install windows?

Sorry I meant Z97

Windows 7 install is a bit more lengthy than it used to be. I wouldn't install anything but the video, monitor, audio, mouse & keyboard drivers until windows is complete. If the driver on the website is old I wouldn't change what windows is fine with when it comes to usb and chipset. A lot of those dl's include software you can live without. As far as bios revisions, it's a good idea to read what they include. If you're not having any issue and there's no major revisions recommended... leave it.
